Phillip Cocu has been appointed PSV Eindhoven coach on a four-year deal, the Eredivisie club have announced. The former Netherlands midfielder takes over from outgoing coach Dick Advocaat.
Eredivisie champions Ajax capped off their season with a 2-0 win at Groningen, while Twente beat PSV Eindhoven 3-1 where Mark van Bommel was shown red in what may prove to be the former Dutch internationals last match.
Having recently scored the opening goal to help Central Coast Mariners to their maiden A-League final win, highly-rated former Utrecht and NAC Breda defender Patrick Zwaanswijk has announced his retirement.
AZ Alkmaar scored twice in a two minute period to beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1, earning them their first KNVB Beker in 31 years and their first trophy since the 2008/09 Eredivisie crown.
The Eredivisie will look to the race for UEFA Europa League places as it reaches the final round of games this season, with third place still being battled for and the last two European spots up for grabs.
